Musical “Hair” update… Zac Efron hype… Kristoff St. John found dead… Andy Cohen is a dad… and 21 Savage’s lawyer is furious
NBC has decided not to move forward with the live version of the musical “Hair.” They’re not delaying it. They’re scrapping it altogether in favor of finding something a little more family friendly. What? What family doesn’t want to gather the kids around the TV for a musical that covers the Vietnam war, drugs, and sexual identity. And how would they handle the nudity? We never have to worry about it because “Hair” ain’t happening. This comes on the heels of “Rent,” which was criticized for being censored and watered down for a primetime audience.

It’s been a couple weeks since Netflix released “The Ted Bundy Tapes” and it’s gotten everybody all hyped for the Zac Efron movie, “Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.” The movie got good reviews when it premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and now it’s being reported that Netflix is close to buying the rights to Zac’s movie for $9 million. They’d release it in movie theaters this fall, just in time for awards season. And then it would find its eternal resting place on Netflix.

It was so sad to hear about “Young and the Restless” star Kristoff St. John being found dead on Sunday. He was only 52. An autopsy has been conducted and we have to wait for the toxicology reports, but those close to Kristoff say they believe he drank himself to death. Back in March, Kristoff returned to work on the soap after taking a 4-month break to undergo psychiatric treatment. He’d been very open about being depressed since his son committed suicide in 2014. Julian suffered from schizophrenia and went through homelessness and a meth addiction. He was in a mental health facility under suicide watch when he managed to commit suicide. Kristoff and his ex-wife sued for negligence and the case was settled out of court. But Kristoff was never the same after that. The last activity on his Twitter was on January 21, when he retweeted a post that said, “Grieving the loss of a child is a process. It begins on the day your child passes, and ends the day the parent joins them.” After hearing that Kristoff had died, his ex-wife tweeted and later deleted, “That hospital killed our son then my husband that’s what happened!”

21 Savage’s lawyer is furious over his client’s arrest by ICE agents. TMZ says ICE knew about his immigration status since 2017, when Savage applied for a U-Visa. That’s available for people who’ve lived in the US illegally for 10 years or more, who have a qualifying US relative living here. In this case, Savage has 3 kids who were born here. But ICE says the fact that Savage was busted on felony drug charges in 2014 means he’s not eligible for the U-Visa. However, his lawyer says the record was expunged last year so yes he is!! But apparently, from what TMZ is reporting, ICE doesn’t have to honor an expungement. The arrested and conviction can trigger deportation action.
