Patti LaBelle is off The Masked Singer…Dancing With The Stars made a shocking decision…Kylie Jenner is selling half of her company…Billie Eilish is breaking records… American Music Awards are announcing performers.
It was absolutely ridiculous that they put Patti LaBelle on “The Masked Singer.” It’s only more ridiculous because she was the one hiding behind that flower getup and got sent home last night. And no, I didn’t do a SPOILER ALERT because everybody knew from the first note out of her mouth that it was Patti LaBelle. And NOBODY out-sings Patti LaBelle, so it’s beyond shocking that she placed EIGHTH on this silly show. But honestly, it was no fun guessing who the Flower was because there WAS no guessing. It was too obvious. So maybe that’s why Patti got the boot. So now we’re left guessing on the final seven — Flamingo, Leopard, Rottweiler, Mr. Fox, Tree, Thingamajig, and Butterfly.

Carrie Ann Inaba says she went home and threw up after Monday night’s “Dancing With the Stars.” After revealing that his wife had suffered a miscarriage over the weekend, James Van Der Beek was eliminated. Ally Brooke was in the bottom two with him and she even said to send her home instead, but the judges unanimously chose to save her. The next day on “The Talk,” Carrie Ann explained that despite how difficult it was to eliminate James after he and his wife suffered such a tremendous loss, she had to judge the dance. She explained, “It’s like in the Olympics. If something happens to somebody before they get on the gymnastics mat, it doesn’t matter what happens in your personal life, I have to judge what’s happening on the dance floor.” But she was still sick about it…literally. And when Marie Osmond brought up the fact that a lot of people were criticizing James for even showing up Monday night when he should’ve been home with his wife, Carrie defended him. She said, “Can I just say, that it just tells you what kind of a guy he is. He’s a follow-through person. He’s a finisher. We all go through heartbreaking things in life…..I think it shows his work ethic. Sometimes, too, you have to remember, those endorphins help you cope. We shouldn’t judge him at all.” So now we’ve got the final four — Ally Brooke, Lauren Alaina, Hannah Brown, and the sole male, Kel Mitchell.

While Lizzo has the most Grammy nominations with eight, Billie Eilish broke a record with her six nominations. She’s nominated in what is known as the “Big Four” — Record of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year for “Bad Guy” and Best New Artist. And at the age of 17, this makes Billie the youngest artist in history to be nominated in the Big Four. Lizzo is also nominated in the Big Four, but she’s 31. Meantime, Billie is making her debut performance Sunday night at the American Music Awards. Yes! Someone else beside Taylor Swift is showing up for the AMAs! Speaking of…..

Ciara is hosting the 47th annual American Music Awards, which you can watch Sunday night on ABC. Post Malone leads with seven nominations, followed by Ariana Grande and first-time nominee Billie Eilish with six each. Billie is up for New Artist of the Year, going up against Luke Combs, Lil Nas X, Lizzo, and Ella Mai. Post and Ariana are both nominated for the big ‘un — Artist of the Year. Halsey, Drake and Taylor Swift are also up for that. As of now, Taylor holds the most wins in that particular category — four. And if she wins just two of the five awards in which she’s nominated, Taylor will surpass Michael Jackson’s record for the most AMAs of all time. He has 26. In addition to Taylor performing whatever she wants, Billie, Lizzo, Camila Cabello, Selena Gomez, Dua Lipa, Kesha, Big Freedia, Shania Twain and Thomas Rhett are performing, but more could be announced between now and Sunday night.
