Brad Pitt & Leonardo DiCaprio Passed On “Brokeback Mountain”

The Brady Bunch house is for sale… “Bachelorette” TV wedding… Justin Bieber blowing off a deposition… Meghan Markle’s difficult time… and Brad Pitt & Leonardo DiCaprio passed on “Brokeback Mountain”

The Brady Bunch house is for sale!! But here’s the thing. Yes, it’s the Brady Bunch house on the OUTSIDE, but on the inside, it’s not the same house we saw on TV. The interior scenes were shot in a studio. And instead of having enough bedrooms for mom and dad, six kids and a live-in maid, there are only 2 bedrooms and 3 baths. And they’re also asking almost $2 million for it, which may not even be the biggest turn-off. The real estate agent says this house in Studio City attracts up to 50 visitors a day, all wanting to pose in front of the Brady Bunch house. “The Brady Bunch” ran from 1969-1974. George and Violet McAllister bought the house in 1973 for $61K. But the couple has died and now their children are selling the property.

If former “Bachelorette” Rachel Lindsay want to marry Bryan Abasolo on TV, she’d better hurry up and do it. The chances of ABC paying big bucks for this wedding get smaller and smaller the longer they wait and, as they say, “Out of sight, out of mind!” At first, Rachel wanted to chill for a minute, but she told People magazine that now, they’re just waiting to hear from the show! She said, “There are just so many engaged couples from the show in front of us.” Let’s see….Arie got engaged to Becca and then Lauren, but that was after Rachel’s season…..But there’s Kaitlyn and Shawn and then JoJo and Jordan and THEN Rachel and Bryan. Rachel also said that “technically” they don’t have to wait on ABC and they “really don’t care” if their wedding is on TV, but she says, “We feel like we owe it to the fans that followed us on the show to give them that.” Plus, she’s thinking if ABC pays for it, she’ll have a much bigger wedding and reception.

Justin Bieber keeps blowing off a deposition in that egging case from four years ago. After failing to show up AGAIN last month, his old neighbor Jeff Schwartz asked for a warrant for Justin’s arrest. The Blast has learned that a judge has decided instead that Justin won’t be allowed to testify on his own defense. The judge also said the jury will be told that Justin refused to show up for his deposition, and it will be admitted as fact that Justin is liable for the egging and that he did it “with malice.” The judge also ordered him to pay Mr. Schwartz $7500 in sanctions for missing the depositions. Plus, he’s given him less than 3 weeks to turn over all his financial records, including his net worth.

A source told People magazine that Meghan Markle — now the Duchess of Sussex — is finding some aspects of royal protocol “difficult to understand.” The source says, for instance, Meghan doesn’t like that the queen prefers women in dresses or skirts rather than trouser suits. And she’s often asking her husband Harry why things have to be done a certain way. But, as the source said, “This is her new life, and she has to deal with it.” Meghan gets called out in the press for her little bobbles, including crossing her legs before quickly uncrossing them and slanting them to the side, instead. But for the most part, Meghan is following fashion protocol. While she’s wearing flesh-colored pantyhose and light-colored nail polish, she did cause a few jaws to drop when she dared to bare her shoulders at a parade last month.

Imagine Brad Pitt in anguish telling Leonardo DiCaprio, “I don’t know how to quit you!” Gus Van Sant just revealed in an interview with IndieWire that both actors passed on “Brokeback Mountain” and we know that those parts ultimately went to Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger. And while Gus was originally approached to direct that movie, it ended up being directed by Ang Lee. Gus said when they were trying to get “Brokeback Mountain” made, NOBODY wanted to play gay cowboys. Gus said, “I asked the usual suspects — Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Ryan Phillippe…They all said no.” And one of the movie’s producers agreed, saying that out of the two leading men, Heath Ledger’s role was the most difficult to fill. The movie went on to snag 8 Academy Award nominations, the most of any movies that year.
