Hayden Christensen will return as Anakin Skywalker… ‘Wendy Williams Show’ paying people to sit in audience… Britney Spears’ message to her family… Dave Chappelle won’t ‘bend to demands’… and Chris Harrison is engaged to girlfriend Lauren Zima
In casting news, “The Hollywood Reporter” learned that Hayden Christensen will be back as Anakin Skywalker in the upcoming Disney+ series “Ahsoka.” Rosario Dawson stars as Ahsoka Tano, a Jedi Knight survivor we met in Season 2 of “The Mandalorian.” We don’t know the plot of “Ahsoka” other than it’s set five years after “Return of the Jedi,” which would be after the death of Darth Vader, aka Anakin Skywalker, so he’ll probably be seen in flashbacks. Production is set to start early next year. And Brendan Fraser has been cast as the villain Firefly in the upcoming “Batgirl” movie, which will debut on HBO Max sometime next year.
In addition to appearing in the upcoming Obi-Wan Kenobi series, Hayden Christensen will also appear in Ahsoka. Both shows will hit Disney+ in the future. pic.twitter.com/5CcDZWstwy— IGN (@IGN) October 22, 2021
A revolving door of guest hosts is filling in until Wendy Williams is well enough to return to hosting her talk show. It’s important to have people watching at home, but it’s equally as important to have people watching in the live studio audience. But without Wendy, they’re been struggling to put butts in the seats, so producers are now offering $75 to non-union, vaccinated people who are willing to sit in the audience. While the show’s only an hour, this would be a 3-hour commitment. Whitney Cummings is currently serving as host, with Sherri Shepherd taking over next week.
With the end of her conservatorship so close she can taste it, Britney Spears is getting braver and braver in her Instagram posts. She posted a pretty picture of a little manual typewriter and some flowers, but the caption was brutal. Britney said, “I found my mini typewriter !!! Don’t you find it weird when you jump through hoops to organize trips or set up lunch dates with people you love only to know they’ll bail on you or leave after 10 minutes ??? It’s humiliating and it’s like every person I’ve ever opened to immediately says they’ll be gone on a trip for two weeks after … OK I get it … they’re only available to me when it’s convenient for them … well I’m no longer available to any of them now !!! I don’t mind being alone … and actually I’m tired of being this understanding Mother Teresa … if you’re rude to me then I’m done … peace out !!! This message is to my family … for hurting me deeper than you’ll ever know !!! I know the conservatorship is about to be over but I still want justice !!! I’m only 5’4″ and I’ve played the bigger person my entire life … do you know how hard that is ??? Ps … @camilacabello I found my tiny desk too !!!!!” I don’t know what the tiny desk comment is about, but Britney loved that last line she came up with so much, she quoted herself in the next post, “‘I’m only 5’4 and have played the bigger person my whole life … do you know how hard that is ???’ – Britney Spears”
Dave Chappelle posted a video on his Instagram explaining he is willing to sit down with the Netflix employees upset with him over his standup special, “The Closer.” But he does have some conditions. Dave said, “It’s been said in the press that I was invited to speak to the transgender employees of Netflix and I refused. That is not true — if they had invited me I would have accepted it, although I am confused about what we would be speaking about. I said what I said, and boy, I heard what you said. My God, how could I not? You said you want a safe working environment at Netflix. It seems like I’m the only one that can’t go to the office anymore.” Dave went on to say, “I want everyone in this audience to know that even though the media frames it that it’s me versus that community, that is not what it is. Do not blame the LBGTQ community for any of this s***. This has nothing to do with them. It’s about corporate interests and what I can say and what I cannot say. For the record, and I need you to know this, everyone I know from that community has been loving and supporting, so I don’t know what all this nonsense is about.” Dave went on to say, “To the transgender community, I am more than willing to give you an audience, but you will not summon me. I am not bending to anybody’s demands. And if you want to meet with me, I’d be more than willing to, but I have some conditions. First of all, you cannot come if you have not watched my special from beginning to end. You must come to a place of my choosing at a time of my choosing, and thirdly, you must admit that Hannah Gadsby is not funny.” Hannah is a comedian who came for Dave and Netflix boss Ted Sarandos saying she didn’t want to be dragged into this mess.
In Bachelorette news that should shock absolutely no one, Katie Thurston and Blake Moynes have called off their engagement. In a joint statement, they said, “…We ultimately have concluded that we are not compatible as life partners, and it is the most caring choice for both of us to move forward independently.” You know what that means……Katie has to give back the Neil Lane ring. But in happier Bachelor news, congratulations to former host Chris Harrison, who proposed to “Entertainment Tonight” correspondent Lauren Zima at a winery in Napa Valley. He did NOT use a Neil Lane ring.
