Jennifer Hudson pitching a talk show… “Selena + Chef” renewed… Pete Davidson & Kim Kardashian update… Security guard “needle spiking”… and Chris Stapleton wins a LOT at last night’s CMA Awards
Jennifer Hudson is ready to switch gears a bit, career-wise. Deadline reported that Jennifer wants to host her own syndicated daily talk show. She actually taped a sample episode on the “Ellen” stage, and if it gets picked up, Jennifer’s show would be executive produced by Ellen’s current executive producers, Andy Lassner and Mary Connelly. If all the stars line up, Jennifer’s talk show could debut in the fall of 2022.
Good news for Selena Gomez fans. The final episodes of Season 3 of her HBO Max cooking show “Selena + Chef” drop today, and we just found out the show’s been renewed for Season 4. HBO said, “Season four will take place at a beach house where Selena will continue to learn the joys of cooking with all-star chefs. Like in its first three seasons, each chef will highlight a different charity each episode. To date, the series has raised $400,000 for 26 nonprofit organizations.”
No recent sightings of Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson, but that doesn’t mean they’re not staying in touch. A Kardashian insider told Hollywood Life that Kim is absolutely giddy over Pete and can’t stop gushing to her sisters about him. The source said, “This isn’t like Kim because Kim gets bored so easily and right now she is still giddy about the guy. She knows about his reputation and about his past but she doesn’t care. She has a past too and if anyone can get a man to become attached to one woman it’s Kim.” The source said Kim and Pete text “all day every day” and that she shares the texts with her sisters. The source added, “Kim never saw this one coming but yeah, she’s very attracted to Pete.”
After confirming that one of the security guards at Travis Scott’s Astroworld concert had been pricked by a needle in the neck, causing him to pass out and be revived by Narcan, the Houston police chief has backtracked on that, saying he got “bad information.” At a press conference, the police chief said they tracked down that security guard who said he hadn’t been pricked, he’d been punched. And as far as rumors of others being pricked with a needle at the show, those have been debunked, as well. Meantime, the lawsuits are piling up, with 35 announced so far.
Luke Bryan hosted the CMA Awards last night in Nashville. Chris Stapleton was the biggest winner of the night, taking home four CMAs for Male Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year, Single of the Year and Song of the Year. But Chris did NOT win Entertainer of the Year. In a huge upset, Luke Combs beat out Chris, Eric Church, Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood for that honor. Carly Pearce also pulled off an upset when she won Female Vocalist of the Year. And Jimmie Allen won Best New Artist, beating out Ingrid Andress, Gabby Barrett, Mickey Guyton and (Kellie and Allen’s favorite) HARDY.
