Comic-Con 2018 Trailer Round-Up

Weekend box office news… Honey Boo Boo to join ‘Dancing With the Stars’… Harry Styles says goodbye for now… a Public Service Announcement… and Comic-Con 2018 trailer round-up

Going into the weekend, it looked like “Mama Mia! 2” was going to debut in first place at the box office. Not on Denzel Washington’s watch! In his almost four-decade career, “The Equalizer 2” is Denzel’s very first sequel, and he ended up stealing the top spot with $35.8 million. “Mama Mia! 2” took second with $34.3 million. “Hotel Transylvania 3” was third with $23.1 million.

ABC hasn’t officially announced it yet, but The Blast is reporting that the upcoming season of “Dancing With the Stars” will be a Junior edition featuring celebrity children dancing with professional child dancers! The only one they know of who’s signed up so far is 12-year-old Honey Boo Boo. A source says she’s taking it very seriously and has already been in rehearsals for a week.

Harry Styles wrapped up his tour on Saturday and posted an Instagram message to all his fans, with a great big kiss. He said, “I’m off to write some more music and I hope I’ll be seeing you again very soon. Thank you to my band, the crew, and all of you for making this tour so wonderful. Treat people with kindness. Goodbye for now. I love you all. H” We love you, too, H! Over the past year, Harry traveled the world on his first ever solo tour. Along the way, he raised $1.2 million for 62 charities and also used his tour stops to register people to vote.

This is a Public Service Announcement from the National Transportation Board: STOP JUMPING OUT OF MOVING VEHICLES TO DO THE DRAKE #INMYFEELINGS CHALLENGE!! According to the Chief of Safety Advocacy at the NTSB, “Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death in the U.S. Hopping out of a moving vehicle or jumping into lanes of traffic to show your dance moves is foolish and dangerous to you and those around you.” He adds, “There’s a time and place for everything, but our nation’s highways and roadways are no place for the #inmyfeelings challenge.” While there have been no reports of injuries or deaths from the challenge, there are videos of people eating pavement and it looks like it hurts.

Comic-Con International was this weekend in San Diego. Among the highlights, of course, are all the movie trailers that were released, including “Aquaman,” “Godzilla: King of the Monsters,” and “Shazam!” Also, the stars of the upcoming “Wonder Woman 1984” made a surprise appearance, and Chris Pratt debuted some new footage from “The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part,” and revealed that while he’s still the voice of Master Builder Emmet, he will be voicing a second character named Rex Dangervest. Johnny Depp showed up dressed as his character from the upcoming “Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald” and he stayed in character as he told the audience about his anti-Muggle philosophy. Johnny also narrowly missed running into his ex-wife Amber Heard. She was signing autographs at a panel for “Aquaman,” which was held back-to-back in the same room as Johnny’s appearance. In the world of TV, “Supergirl” announced that Nicole Maines will join the cast as TV’s first transgender superhero, Dreamer. Andrew Lincoln’s exit from “The Walking Dead” was confirmed, but to make it sting a little less, fans were told Norman Reedus will have an even bigger role.
