YouTube makeup guru Jeffree Star and his friend Daniel are recovering after a serious car accident. Jeffree was driving his Rolls Royce in Wyoming when he hit a patch of black ice and rolled three times. He posted a picture from his hospital bed, saying, “My back is really broke, and my vertebrae, three are not attached right now, and I am in the most excruciating pain ever. We almost lost our lives, and it was one of the scariest experiences that I think I’ve ever been through.” Meantime, another YouTube makeup star, James Charles, admitted recently that he’d hit on minors who’d lied to him about being 18. James said the minute he found out their real ages, he ended things, but he doesn’t deny that he flirted with minors. On Friday, Morphe announced they’re ending their business relationship with James and will wind down sale of his products. James said it was a mutual decision.

In a sign that we are ALL spending way too much shopping on Amazon……We’ve heard for years that Amazon wants to top HBO’s “Game of Thrones” with their “Lord of the Rings” series, and they are just throwing money at it, breaking every previously set record to create the most expensive TV show in history. The price tag for Season 1 is reportedly $465M. The rumor is, they’ll have 8 episodes for that first season, so that breaks down to just over $58M per episode. In comparison, the “GoT” cost roughly $100M per season, with the final season costing about $15M per episode. “Lord of the Rings” is planned to debut later this year.

A few weeks ago, Chrissy Teigen quit Twitter and posted a long and emotional message saying the trolling and negativity was too much. On Friday, she joined Twitter again. Her first Tweet back said “turns out it feels TERRIBLE to silence yourself and also no longer enjoy belly chuckles randomly throughout the day and also lose like 2000 friends at once lol.”

Keith Urban and Mickey Guyton hosted the 56th Academy of Country Music Awards last night, broadcasting from famous spots around Nashville, including the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium and the Bluebird Cafe. Maren Morris won Song of the Year for “The Bones” and Carly Pearce and Lee Brice’s “I Hope You’re Happy Now” won Single of the Year. Album of the Year went to Chris Stapleton for “Starting Over.” This was the second straight year for Maren Morris to win Female Artist of the Year, and it was the third non-consecutive win for Thomas Rhett as Male Artist of the year. For the fourth straight year, Old Dominion won Vocal Group of the Year and it was three in a row for Dan + Shay to take Duo of the Year. They give two Best New Artist awards — one for male, one for female — and Jimmie Allen and Gabby Barrett won those. Jimmie is actually the first Black performer to win this category at the ACMs. But of course, the biggest award of the night is Entertainer of the Year, and that went to Luke Bryan, but he couldn’t be there because he’s got Covid.

Buckingham Palace announced on Friday that Princes William and Harry would not be walking side-by-side for their grandfather Prince Philip’s funeral. Now it’s being reported that William asked to have the two of them separated, which is why their cousin Peter Philips was between them. According to British tabloids, the vibe amongst the Royal family was very icy. Queen Elizabeth’s daughter, Princess Anne, and her youngest son, Prince Edward, reportedly refused to acknowledge Harry before or during the service. But William and Harry seemed to be okay as they chatted for a few minutes during the televised portion of the funeral. A professional lip reader told the ‘Daily Express” that William told Harry, “Yes, it was great, wasn’t it.” And then later, William told Harry, “Absolutely beautiful service, ah, the music.” We don’t know how they left things, but maybe it’s a start to healing.
