Are prisoners allowed to have Instagram? Joe Exotic has one. In casting news, sources say Gal Gadot is in final negotiations to play the Evil Queen in the live-action remake of “Snow White.” Rachel Zegler from “West Side Story” will play Snow White. Sofia Vergara is going to play a Colombian drug lord in a Netflix show called “Griselda,” which is based on the real-life Griselda Blanco, a cocaine trafficker in the ’80s who was known as “Black Widow.” Sofia has been working on this project for eight years and is an executive producer. Some of the team behind “Narcos” is on board, as well. But Jennifer Lopez is also developing her own Griselda Blanco project called “The Godmother.” And “Sister Act 3” is happening! Tyler Perry is producing and he says Whoopi Goldberg is excited to start filming, but they’re still finishing up that script. It looks like this one will stream on Disney+.
In celebrity relationship news, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez date each other, loud and proud. But his ex-wife Jennifer Garner is way more low-key with her dating life. She started dating John Miller in 2018. He’s the CEO of the CaliBurger chain of restaurants. They broke up right before the lockdown in 2020, but got back together in April of this year. Earlier this week, Jennifer was seen wearing a 3-diamond ring on THAT finger during an Instagram Live, which led many to believe she’s going to beat Ben and JLo to the alter. But the next day, Jennifer was on the construction site of a home she’s building and she’d move the ring to her middle finger. While some people think Kim Kardashian and Pete Davidson are milking this rumored romance for publicity, someone claiming to be Pete’s relative — who provided their real email address to verity who they are — reached out to the Instagram gossip account @Deuxmoi and said, “Pete doesn’t do anything for publicity that’s really not his thing. He’s having fun with Kim and that’s all he cares about. Signed, Pete’s relative.” Another source told @Deuxmoi that Kim is downplaying her feelings for Pete because she doesn’t want to upset Kanye, but she reportedly is smitten. Pete reportedly arranged for a private dinner on the rooftop of his favorite Italian restaurant and then sent roses to her hotel room after.
It’s no surprise that the widower of “Rust” cinematographer Halyna Hutchins has hired lawyers and plans to file a wrongful death lawsuit. Halyna was shot and killed on the movie set when Alec Baldwin was rehearsing a scene and fired a gun he thought was empty. Meantime, the movie’s armorer Hannah Gutierrez-Reed has also lawyered up. Her attorneys are suggesting the possibility that a disgruntled member of the film crew wanted to sabotage the set by planting a live bullet in a box of dummy ammunition. One of the attorneys told the “Today” show, “We know that people had already walked off the set the day before… and the reason they are unhappy is they’re working 12 to 14 hour days, they are not given hotel rooms in and around the area, so they had to drive back and forth an hour to Albuquerque, and they’re unhappy.”
