Dune is officially getting a sequel… ‘Rust’ investigation… Lori Loughlin pays for two students… Megan thee Stallion taking graduation pictures… and Adam Levine addresses fan grabbing him
In movie news, they’re going for it. “Dune” is getting a sequel. The director said the studio agreed to do a second one if the first one performed well enough, and I guess opening in first was well enough. But on top of people complaining it’s long and boring, a lot of people are upset that Zendaya is barely in it. She’s getting top billing and she’s doing a ton of press for “Dune” and she’s only in it for about 7 minutes. And there’s also word that they’re working on a third installment of “A Quiet Place,” but we don’t have any information other than that. But the movie is also getting its own video game, which we also don’t know much about, other than it’s set in the same world as the movies, but it’s not a direct tie-in to the movies. Whatever the heck that is, you can expect it sometime next year.
Halyna Hutchins was the cinematopher who was killed on the set of the movie “Rust” after Alec Baldwin’s gun was loaded with a real bullet. While criminal charges have not been ruled out, it would be shocking if her husband doesn’t file some sort or wrongful death lawsuit against everyone involved. Sources say the movie has an insurance policy worth up to $6M, but is that enough? Sources say the insurer may try to wiggle out of paying anything because of allegations of serious neglect on set. And in New Mexico – which is where “Rust” is being filmed – if prosecutors can show proof of recklessness or wanton misconduct, a jury could award punitive damages that could end up being way more than $6M.

Lori Loughlin and her husband Mossimo were accused of paying $500K in bribes to get their two daughters into USC. In their plea agreement, Lori served two months behind bars, completed 100 hours of community service and paid $150K in fines. But did you know that she was so moved by her charity work that she continues to work with Project Angel Food? And did you also know Lori privately arranged to put two students through four years of college? A source told Us Weekly that the tuition and other expenses total over $500K.
Megan Thee Stallion took her graduation photos this week and is set to receive her diploma from Texas Southern University at the Commencement Ceremony on Dec. 11. Megan previously told “People” magazine, “I really wanted to be an administrator over a hospital, but I knew I still wanted to be Megan Thee Stallion. I was like, ‘What can I do?’ I was like, ‘You know what, I’m gonna open an assisted-living facility and use the money that I make from rapping to open it. Then I’m gonna let my classmates run it.” Megan plans to use her degree in Health Care Administration to open and manage assisted-living facilities across the Houston area.
Maroon 5 were performing a benefit concert at the Hollywood Bowl over the weekend when a fan jumped on stage, rushed up to Adam Levine and hugged him before security pulled her away. Adam made a face that looked a bit disgusted as he moved to the other side of the stage and kept on performing. His reaction has divided Maroon 5’s fans. Some are saying he should humble himself and not act like his fans have cooties while others are defending Adam for simply reacting to being startled. Adam went on his Instagram Story to explain he wasn’t trying to be malicious. He was simply shocked. He said, “I have always been someone that loves, respects, worships our fans. Without our fans, we don’t have a job. I say that all the time to our fans. To think that anyone would believe that I thought that our fans were beneath us or less than us makes my stomach turn. That’s just not who I am. That’s not who I’ve ever been. I just need you guys to know I was really startled. And sometimes when you’re startled … you have to shake it off and move on ’cause I’m doing my job up there. It’s what I pride myself on. I need to let you guys know what my heart is, and my heart is that connection that exists between the band performing onstage and the fans. I hope that we can all understand that.”
