“Jackass Forever” only cost $10M to make, and it’s already made that back and more. The movie opened with a better-than-expected $23.5M to take first place. And it would’ve done better except for the New York and Dallas markets were hit impacted by bad weather. Believe it or not, critics love it. Rotten Tomatoes’ critics currently score it 85% fresh. On the flip side of that success, “Moonfall” was a colossal flop, opening in second place with $10M. According to one source, the movie cost at least $138M to make. “Spider-Man: No Way Home” finished third with another $9.6M. Domestically, the movie is THISCLOSE to hitting $750M. “Scream” was fourth with $4.7M, and “Sing 2” rounded out the top five with $4.2M.

Awkwafina has made a big name for herself over the last few years after starring in movies like “Crazy Rich Asians,” “Oceans 8” and “Shang-Chi.” and more. But for years, she’s been accused of using a “blaccent” in her act — using stereotypical words speech patterns of Black people. In a long statement on Twitter, Awkwafina said in part, “…As a non-Black POC, I stand by the fact that I will always listen and work tirelessly to understand the history and context of AAVE [African American Vernacular English]… But I must emphasize: To mock, belittle, or to be unkind in any way possible at the expense of others is: Simply. Not. My. Nature. It never has, and it never was. My immigrant background allowed me to carve an American identity off the movies and TV shows I watched…. I think as a group, Asian Americans are still trying to figure out what that journey means for them – what is correct and where they don’t belong.” Awkwafina said she will continue to listen and learn in the future. She wrapped things up by saying, “Well, I’ll see you in a few years, Twitter – per my therapist.” She’s not leaving social media altogether, just the “ingrown toenail that is Twitter.” She said she will “avail” herself “on all other socials that don’t tell you to kill yourself!”

2021 was pretty sweet for Olivia Rodrigo, and it looks like 2022 could be even better. Not only is she kicking off her sold-out tour this spring, Olivia has been named Billboard’s 2022 Woman of the Year. The Billboard Women in Music Awards will take place on March 2, hosted by 2009’s Woman of the Year Ciara. The lineup of women performing and receiving awards include Gabby Barrett (Rising Star Award), Phoebe Bridgers (Trailblazer Award), Doja Cat (Powerhouse Award), Karol G (Rule Breaker Award), Saweetie (Game Changer Award), Summer Walker (Chartbreaker Award) and Bonnie Raitt (Icon Award).

Back in September, Britney Spears announced she was engaged to her boyfriend of five years, Sam Asghari. But a source told “The Sun” that the two of them actually got engaged over Christmas of 2020, but kept it a secret because of the conservatorship. Six months after the alleged engagement, Britney spoke out in court for the first time, saying she wanted out of the conservatorship and that she hadn’t been allowed to get engaged and start a family with Sam. In September 2021, Sam was spotted at a high-end jewelry store looking at rings, but a source told “The Sun” that he was actually getting Britney’s ring fixed after a diamond fell out.

Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott have welcomed their second child. Kylie announced the birth on her Instagram yesterday, posting a black and white photo of big sister Stormi holding a baby’s hand. She captioned it simply “2/2/22” with a blue heart, so it’s a boy! We’re still waiting on the name. Stormi turned 4 on Feb. 1. And a lot of people thought Gigi Hadid was spilling some big tea on Rihanna’s pregnancy. Last week, Rihanna posted a picture of her baby bump and Gigi commented, “three angels.” A lot of people assumed Gigi was suggesting that Rihanna was expecting twins. She cleared that up two days later, commenting, “I just caught word of this commotion. I meant rih / rocky / baby lol.”
