$100M ‘Mission Impossible 7’ Policy… Meghan Markle allegations dropped… Dennis Rodman’s infamous vacation… New WynnBET commercial… and Younes Bendjima shares alleged DMs
Remember when someone leaked the audio of Tom Cruise going off on crew members for breaking COVID protocols on the“Mission Impossible 7” set? Sources said the studio was under a lot of pressure to keep everyone safe because every time they had to shut down for covid, it cost money. In fact, production was delayed seven times between February 2020 and June 2021, and at least six of those times were because of covid. But yesterday, Paramount filed a lawsuit against the movie’s insurer, Chubb, because they said they’d only write a check for a million dollars for covid losses. Now, Paramount had a “cast insurance” policy for the production, with a $100M coverage limit. This would cover losses that result when a film’s key personnel — like Tom or the director— is unavailable due to sickness, death or kidnapping. But Chubb says the covid shutdowns are covered only under the studio’s “civil authority” policy, which covers costs that are the result of government-mandated shutdowns. And that policy carries a $1M limit. Now Chubb did pay out $5M under the cast insurance policy but Paramount says that only covers a small portion of their total losses. They want more, but the lawsuit doesn’t state how much. “Mission: Impossible 7” is due to be released in May 2022.
Remember how right before Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s interview with Oprah aired “The Sun” reported that members of the Palace staff accused Meghan of being a bully? Scratch that. The paperback version of Omid Scobie and Carolyn Durand’s book about Megzit called Finding Freedom is out today with an updated epilogue. In the ongoing investigation of these claims, it turns out a lot of the allegations were simply not true. In fact, Harry’s communications secretary filed a complaint saying two staffers were driven out my Meghan but that Harry had a meeting with him begging him not to pursue the matter. That meeting with Harry never happened and an email revealed that the two employees who left asked that any allegations made to HR about their experiences with Meghan be rescinded.
According to the new epilogue in the book #FindingFreedom, several staffers named in the bullying allegations against Meghan Markle have since rescinded their claims. https://t.co/ZXz2Szxw2o— Entertainment Tonight (@etnow) August 31, 2021
Remember that ESPN documentary about Michael Jordan called “The Last Dance”? Episode 3 covered Michael’s 1998 championship season with the Bulls when Scottie Pippen suffered an injury that caused him to miss the first 35 games. Dennis Rodman stepped up and killed it, but he was pooped. So when Scottie was ready to come back, Dennis went to Michael and Coach Phil Jackson and said he needed a vacation….just 48 hours in Vegas. Michael told Coach there was NO WAY Dennis would be back in 48 hours, but Coach let him go anyway. Well! Dennis didn’t make it back. He was partying with then girlfriend Carmen Electra and wasn’t exactly keeping track of the time. Michael flew to Vegas and literally pulled him out of bed and made him go back to Chicago. And now, that story is being made into a movie — “48 Hours in Vegas.” Dennis will serve as an executive producer.
Dennis Rodman’s infamous vacation to Las Vegas during the Chicago Bulls 1997-1998 season will be turned into a feature film, ’48 Hours in Vegas.’ https://t.co/VHECPeqJri— Rolling Stone (@RollingStone) August 30, 2021
Remember right after Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez reconnected how Ben was filming something in Vegas and Jennifer’s mom Lupe stopped by? It turns out Lupe wasn’t visiting Ben on the set of his next movie. Ben was in Vegas to star and direct a new ad for a sports betting app called WynnBET. The ad shows Ben and some friends walking around a casino when they pass by Lupe who is pumping coins into two slot machines. She’s giving herself a pep talk, “Come on, Lupe! You can do this, girl, just like the slots in St. Louis!” Lupe famously won $2.4M playing slots in Atlantic City back in 2004.
Ben Affleck links up with Melvin Gregg, Shaq, J-Lo’s mom and more for a new WynnBET commercial.
“It didn’t feel like we were working at all.”
Remember how Kourtney Kardashian dated other men before she started her public humping tour with Travis Barker? If the point was to rile up their exes, it’s working on at least one of them. Kourtney’s ex Younes Bendjima shared a screenshot of his DM exchange with Kourtney’s other ex Scott Disick. Scott sent Younes a picture of Kourtney and Travis all over each other during their Italian vacation and wrote, “Yo is this chick ok!???? Brooo like what is this. In the middle of Italy.” Younes responded, “Doesn’t matter to me as long as she’s happy. PS I ain’t your bro.” He captioned it, “Keep the same energy you had about me publicly, privately.”
