Sandra Bullock is embarrassed… Amber Heard’s trial with Johnny Depp… The Bachelorette hosting gig… Lizzo doing double duty on SNL… and Kylie Jenner & Travis Scott changed son’s name
Sandra Bullock is doing press for her new movie “The Lost City,” which comes out Friday. But a reporter asked her if there was a movie she was initially embarrassed to do, but then “came around to” it after seeing how fans reacted. Sandra had an immediate answer for that. She said, “It’s called ‘Speed 2.’ I’ve been very vocal about it. Makes no sense. Slow boat. Slowly going towards an island.” But Sandra said she never came around to it and is still embarrassed about it. One person who is not embarrassed by “Speed 2” is Keanu Reeves. In an interview a few years ago with Jimmy Kimmel, Keanu said, “It was just a situation in life where I got the script and I read the script and I was like, ‘Ugh.’ It was about a cruise ship and I was thinking, ‘A bus, a cruise ship… Speed, bus, but then a cruise ship is even slower than a bus and I was like, ‘I love you guys, but I just can’t do it.’ “But he paid a little price for saying no. Keanu said the Fox movie studio refused to work with him for the next 10 years. He was basically in “movie jail.” But then they finally relented in 2008, when Keanu starred in “The Day the Earth Stood Still.”
Get ready for another round of Depp vs. Heard. Johnny Depp is suing his ex-wife Amber Heard for a 2018 article she wrote for the “Washington Post” about surviving domestic violence. She never named Johnny, but everyone knew who she was referring to and Johnny sued her for defamation. Johnny originally filed the $50M in March 2019, and the trial will finally get underway April 11 in Virginia. Back in November 2020, Johnny filed a libel lawsuit in the UK against “The Sun” tabloid after they called him a “wife-beater,” based on Amber’s article. He lost. Amber had asked the judge in the upcoming trial in Virginia to dismiss Johnny’s lawsuit based on the British case, but that didn’t go in in favor. Deadline is reporting that Amber will call several famous friends to testify on her behalf, including James Franco, Ellen Barkin, and Elon Musk. Paul Bettany will testify for Johnny.
If you watched “Bachelor: After the Final Rose,” you heard Jesse Palmer announce that there would once again be two Bachelorettes. Those would be Clayton Echard rejects Rachel Recchia and Gabby Windey. But it may have surprised — or disappointed — you to hear Jesse announce that he would be hosting “The Bachelorette,” not Kaitlyn Bristowe and Tayshia Adams. If you were blindsided by the news, Kaitlyn and Tayshia were not. A source told “Us Weekly” that the ladies were given “a little bit of a heads up” before the announcement. The source explained that they needed to know in advance “for contractual reasons.” The source said, “The decision came at some point throughout this past season that Jesse was a safe choice for the next ‘Bachelorette’ season. They’re still testing him out for a more permanent role, just like they tested out Tayshia and Kaitlyn for two seasons.” Basically, the source said ABC is “trying to get back to more of the Chris Harrison style” with one host covering everything, but the “doors aren’t closed for good” on Kaitlin and Tayshia participating in the shows.

“Saturday Night Live” has announced their upcoming hosting lineup for April. First up on April 2 is standup comedian Jerrod Carmichael with musical guest Gunna. Kylie Jenner and Travis Scott welcomed their baby boy into the world on February 2, but didn’t tell us he was here until February 6. Then on February 11, Kylie posted “Wolf Webster” on her IG Story, and we finally had his name! Wolf Jacques Webster, after his daddy Travis, whose real name is Jacques Bermon Webster II. Well, scratch all that. On her IG Story yesterday, Kylie revealed, “FYI OUR SONS NAME ISN’T WOLF ANYMORE. WE JUST REALLY DIDN’T FEEL LIKE IT WAS HIM. JUST WANTED TO SHARE BECAUSE I. KEEP SEEING WOLF EVERYWHERE.” She stopped short of sharing the new name.
