Offset Crashes Cardi B’s Show With Apology Stunt

Weekend box office news… HQ co-founder died… Drake’s feud with Kanye West… Troubling message from Pete Davidson… and Offset Crashes Cardi B’s Show With Apology Stunt

“Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse” debuted at number one this weekend with $35.4 million. It’s an animated movie that shows us a shared universe where there can be more than one Spider-Man, and the latest is a teenager from Brooklyn named Miles Morales. Coming in second was Clint Eastwood’s “The Mule” with $17.2 million. Grae Drake from Rotten Tomatoes wasn’t a fan but the movie earned an A- CinemaScore from the audience, and did especially well in America’s heartland and the South. The big bomb of the weekend was “Mortal Engines.” It had a budget of around $100 million, but only earned $7.5 million here in the States for a fifth place finish. Worldwide, the movie earned $42 million.

CEO and co-founder of HQ Trivia Colin Kroll has died of an apparent drug overdose. He was only 34. Colin’s girlfriend called police early Sunday and asked them to do a welfare check because she couldn’t get ahold of him. Officers reportedly found his body with cocaine and heroin nearby. Colin had an incredible career. He started off at Yahoo eleven years ago as an engineering manager and went on to become the co-founder of Vine. He helped launch HQ Trivia last year which was a massive hit. But the app has had a lot of problems recently, going from the top 10 of most downloaded iPhones game to bouncing around between #250 and #500.

Drake isn’t taking any chances after his escalating feud with Kanye West. They only live half a mile from each other, so rather than take a chance that Kanye will show up unannounced, Drake’s adding extra security outside his mansion. He’ll have at least two new guards standing watch outside the gate to his driveway as well as an SUV stationed just inside his front gate.

Pete Davidson had a lot of people VERY worried over the weekend. First, Pete went on Instagram to stick up for Kanye and said, “No one should ever point fingers at you for your bravery in speaking out about mental health. I’m seriously disgusted.” A lot of people thought that comment was directed at Ariana Grande, who went on Twitter to call out Kanye and Drake for fighting when she had new music to release. SHE even took it that way because she later tweeted an apology for her “dumb joke.” But Pete must’ve received a ton of backlash because he later posted, “I really don’t want to be on this earth anymore. I’m doing my best to stay here for you but i actually don’t know how much longer i can last. All i’ve ever tried to do was help people. Just remember I told you so.” Shortly after that, he shut down his Instagram and everybody who loves him jumped into action. Machine Gun Kelly posted that he was on a plane headed his way. Ariana posted that she was downstairs if he needed her. Pete skipped all rehearsals for Saturday Night Live, which meant he was dropped from all his skits. He reportedly stayed in his dressing room in his pajamas most of the show, only popping out to introduce Miley Cyrus.

Offset doesn’t care if he’s humiliating himself or not. He wants his wife back. For his birthday, he posted a video saying his only wish was to have Cardi B forgive him and allow him to spend Christmas with her and their daughter Kulture. Then Saturday night, he interrupts her show at Rolling Loud in LA with a huge display of flowers that read, “TAKE ME BACK CARDI” and then proceeded to beg, “I just wanna tell you I’m sorry, bro, in person, in front of the world. I love you. Whatever I gotta do to show you that, I’m there.” Cardi appeared to be having none of it, so the flowers were removed and Offset left the stage. She later went on Instagram to ask us all to back off Offset, saying, “Violating my baby father is not going to make me feel any better, because at the end of the day, that’s still family.” And even though Cardi insists this isn’t a publicity stunt, is saying it’s a publicity stunt. Their music industry source said, “This was a huge set up. Cardi knew about it. She knew about the flower sign, knew it was all going to happen. She and Offset are playing everyone.”
