R. Kelly Back In Jail After Failing To Make Child Support Payment

Alex Trebek has an announcement… Jason Momoa’s scare… Will Smith is out… Gayle King wants a raise… and R. Kelly back in jail after failing to make child support payment

Alex Trebek wanted us to hear it from him. He announced yesterday that in the past week, he’s been diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer. Alex said, “Normally, the prognosis for this is not very encouraging, but I’m gonna fight this.” And trying to lighten the mood just a little, he threw in, “Truth told, I have to because under the terms of my contract, I have to host Jeopardy! for three more years. So help me. Keep the faith, and we’ll win. We’ll get it done.” As Alex pointed out, 50K people in the US are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer each year. According to the American Cancer Society, the 5-year survival rate for people with stage 4 pancreatic cancer is approximately 1 percent. Jeopardy! champion Ken Jennings tweeted his support, “One thing I know for a fact: Alex is very aware of how much he means to millions of people, and how we will be pulling for him…I hope that’s a comfort. And I hope some very good L.A. oncologists are getting ready to have their mispronunciations corrected.”

Things got a little scary for Jason Momoa yesterday when his private jet had to make an emergency landing. After he was safely back on the ground, Jason posted a video explaining what happened on his Instagram Story and showing us the firefighters who met them on the ground. He said, “We got ourselves a slight delay. Half-hour out — Palm Springs — and the plane wanted to start a fire. So, yeah, good old fire department, gotta love ’em. Looks like we’re driving.” But as it turns out, the fire was a false alarm. And Jason didn’t have to drive. They managed to find another private jet.

Will Smith out. Idris Elba in. Idris is taking over for Will as Deadshot in the sequel to “Suicide Squad.” Will had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts and the Warner Bros. Studios said there are no hard feelings. We still don’t know who else is on board for the sequel, but people seem pretty certain that Margot Robbie will be back as Harley Quinn. The release date is set for August 6, 2021.

The planets lined up just right for Gayle King! She’s in the middle of contract negotiations with CBS to stay on “CBS This Morning” when she does an interview with hysterical R. Kelly, which has become the biggest and best thing that’s EVER happened to her career. (Other than being Oprah’s best friend…) CBS News is now turning this into a Friday night special — “The Gayle King Interview with R. Kelly,” which will feature unaired footage from their 80-minute interview, as well as interviews with the two women who are now living with him. Sources told Page Six that Gayle has been making $6 million a year, but now she’s asking for “George Stephanopoulous money.” Reportedly, he got between $15 and $18 million to stay with ABC.

After part on of Gayle’s interview with R. Kelly aired yesterday, he had to go to court to deal with unpaid child support. R. Kelly owes $161K, but said he only had $50K on him and was hoping to set up a payment plan. The judge didn’t go for that and now he’s back in jail. He won’t be released until he comes up with the full amount he owes in back child support.
