Meghan Markle’s dad, Thomas, is back home after suffering a stroke. A source told “The Mirror” tabloid in England that Meghan is trying to figure out if there’s any way to contact her father without her other family members getting involved. The source said, “Meghan can’t contact her half-siblings because she believes they have their own agendas. If she can contact their dad, she wants it to be totally private. It won’t involve Netflix, it won’t involve any photographs and it must not involve any tip-offs to the paparazzi.” Meghan’s half-sister Samantha has already been speaking to the press, letting everyone know Meghan hasn’t reached out to their father yet. Meantime, Harry and Meghan will be in London for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee. The Queen is going to meet their daughter Lilibet for the first time this Saturday at her great-granddaughter’s first birthday party.

Liam Payne’s new girlfriend, Aliana Mawla, wants you to know that she is not a home-wrecker. In case you missed it, a fan page re-posted some pictures of Liam and a brunette getting cozy and fans kept tagging Maya Henry. Maya finally had enough and posted, “Please stop sending me these pictures of my fiancé wrapped around another woman. This is not me and it’s hard enough knowing this has happened without seeing it. Enough now.” Even though Maya referred to Liam as her fiancé, his rep said their engagement had been called off for a second time about a month before these pictures with Aliana popped up. And now Aliana’s rep has something to say. The rep’s statement said, “Aliana is very taken back by the accusations that have been made regarding a relationship with Liam while he was still engaged or involved with (his) ex fiancé. Under no circumstances would Aliana have involved herself in a public relationship as such if there was any truth to the comments that have been made. She is very protective of her personal life and has nothing more to say at the moment other than she is very happy and does not wish to discuss this situation moving forward.”

The “Who’s managing The Kid Laroi?” drama may have finally been resolved. Back in June 2021, The Kid Laroi signed with Scooter Braun, but left after only three months. A source said The Kid Laroi had “significant problems” with the firm, but the main reason was because Scooter wasn’t involved enough in big decisions regarding The Kid Laroi’s career. The Kid Laroi went with a new management team, but that didn’t didn’t work out so well. So a month after leaving that team, The Kid Laroi has resigned with Scooter Braun after Scooter promised to be more involved this time around.

After six weeks of testimony, the fate of Johnny Depp’s $50M defamation suit against Amber Heard — and her $100M countersuit against him — is in the hands of the jury. After deliberating for a couple hours on Friday, the judge sent the jury home to enjoy the long Memorial Day weekend. They’re back at it again this morning. Johnny didn’t hang around in Virginia. He caught a flight to England where he made a surprise appearance at Jeff Beck’s concert at Sheffield City Hall on Sunday. He was back on stage with Jeff at London’s Royal Albert Hall last night. Jeff has more dates this week, but we have to wait and see if Johnny decides to perform at those. Neither he nor Amber have to be present when the jury returns its verdict.

Tom Cruise waited 36 years to make a sequel to“Top Gun” and it was worth the wait. “Top Gun: Maverick” broke the record for biggest Memorial Day weekend opening of all time, earning $156M from Friday through Monday. The previous record holder was “Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End” with $153M. This was also the biggest opening in Tom’s 40-year career and the first time he’s cleared over $100M in an opening weekend. His previous best was 2005’s “War of the Worlds,” with a 3-day opening take $64.9M. Coming in second this Memorial Day weekend was “Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness” with $20.5M. “The Bob’s Burgers Movie” opened in third with $14.8M. “Downton Abbey: A New Era” was fourth with $7.2M, followed by “The Bad Guys” with another $5.56M in its sixth week of release.
